WHAT WE DO:

New art hotel "BnA Alter Museum" opened its doors May 2019 in Kawaramachi.
31 art rooms, created by 16 top artists, the likes of, EYE from Boredoms, and Daito Manabe from Rhizomatiks. 
BnA Alter Museum is a new cultural hub for creators from Japan and globally.

BnA Alter Museum is recruiting for a number of positions ahead of its opening, late April 2019.
We are looking for plugged-in individuals with an interest in contemporary art, street art, music scene and anything crazy and underground.

BnA is not just a hotel, but an art immersion experience to blow your mind.
As a staff, you are not only required to provide a pleasant stay experience but to introduce guests to the brilliant contemporary art scene in Kyoto. We look for open-minded bilingual individuals who want to connect to individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Job description:

Bar manager will be the core of the hotel community, connecting the guests, staff and locals.

He/She will work closely with the hotel art director, curator, outside collaborator, and community members to organize a variety of events, parties to build an active community around the hotel.

Main duties consist of
- Bar Management: Manage revenue/cost for the bar, manage staff shifts, manage stock, design and manage menu

- Organize events/parties in collaboration with the hotel manager, art director and relevant collaborators

- Bar: you know the drill, serve drinks, be a connector between hotel guests and bar visitors, share with them your fave drinking spots


We encourage staff at any position/level to take initiative and get involved in various art projects at the hotel.

What we are looking for:

Experience in the service industry as a manager
Bilingual Japanese/English
Business level in both Japanese and English is required

Practical info
Location: Kyoto, Kawaramachi - Takatsuji crossing
Start date: ASAP
Employment status: looking for Full time
Salary: Market rate (230000 JPY per month ~, negotiable based on experience)
Working Hours: 18:00 - 26:00 (You can sleep at the back room to catch the train in the morning if you live outside Kyoto)
